We have a little tradition at home and the tradition is that we have to eat something sweet after dinner, so you can tell that we all have a sweet tooth. We make our own cakes and holiday cookies, and we gift them too.
One day, we thought, why not share our baked goods with more people than our friends? And that was the beginning of Pesteh! Pesteh is a farsi word meaning “Pistachio” which is rooted in our Iranian background, we eat it raw, cooked, powdered, in desserts, in food, sprinkles on top of ice creams and basically all the time.
But worry not! Pesteh is not all that we serve! We have a whole lot of different cakes, cookies, cupcakes, jar desserts, pies and tarts for every single person with different tastes!
Meet The Fam
Mehri
She started baking bread, when you ask? Well, 2020! I mean, isn’t that when everyone started making their own bread? 😉 She used to make cakes when she was younger, but a full time job as an aesthetician and raising a child didn’t leave much of a time. She is innovative with food and loves the idea of having a bed and breakfast, in order to be able to t serve her food to guests. She is now the main baker at Pesteh Bakery, She mostly prepares and decides what recipe we will be testing and eventually adding to the menu.
She is in love with spices, pistachios and extracts. That being said, she is certainly not afraid of going for new flavours and mixing up the traditional recipes.
